Employment
HGCC is a premier, private, member-owned golf club founded in 1894 that is open year-round. Our members enjoy a classic, 27-hole layout designed by Harry Colt, a nine-hole Short Course and world-class practice facilities. The course was recently renovated by architect Martin Ebert for a new look and tougher challenge.
The iconic clubhouse, that dates back to 1922, plays hosts to a large number of golf and social gatherings, as well as weddings and corporate events. The outdoor dining area and patio were expanded in 2023.
We are always looking for experienced, professional and dedicated team players to join our club and are regularly hiring on a permanent, seasonal and temporary basis.

Meet some of the staff
Alexa Fazzari
I’m finishing up my second year in the Culinary Management Program at Niagara College after graduating from Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School in Ancaster. I needed a co-op placement, so I applied for a position at club and then stayed on full time over the summer and then part time over the next school year. I work as a kitchen assistant overseeing the salads, pizza oven and desserts. I have learned a lot about cooking. Chef Pedro and Executive Sous Chef Kenrick Ngo are terrific to work for and have taught me lots. It’s an awesome place to work. The staff are friendly and good to work with. It is close to home and one day I may learn to play golf.
Matt Murdock
I met a lot of people and learned a lot of names in my first summer at Hamilton G&CC. I needed a co-op placement for my Professional Golf Management Program at Humber College and a friend suggested HGCC. I completed my co-op at HGCC in 2022 in Golfer Services and stayed on for the summer with the same role in 2023. I started working in the Professional Shop and as a starter in 2024. I also passed my Playing Ability Test to become a member of the PGA of Canada in 2024. I’m looking forward to a busy 2025 as an Apprentice Golf Professional. There is also an opportunity for staff to play the course and that’s a great perk.
Sara Fisher
I started at HGCC in 2019 with two internships in Hospitality Management and Event Planning prior to graduating from Humber College. I had been filling in part time at reception while working in F&B when the Reception position opened up in 2021 and I jumped at the opportunity. I enjoy welcoming members and guests as they enter the clubhouse and answer any questions they may have. My main duties include answering phones, responding to emails, booking dining and event reservations, designing promotional materials, updating the App and website and assitsting with regular member communications. I really enjoy chatting with the members and making sure everyone is looked after so they enjoy their time at the club. Definitely a terrific learning environment and an excellent staff and management team to work with.
Sam Monte
Meet and greet is my thing at HGCC. 2025 will be my fifth season as a starter and I’m enjoying every minute of it. I’m a retired high school physical education teacher and I really enjoy working two or three days a week at HGCC. My role is to welcome members and guests to the first tee and explain our local golf rules to members and guests to ensure everyone is on the same page and enjoys their day on the course. The staff is fantastic and there’s lots of flexibility in the scheduling. It’s also a very positive and friendly working environment with terrific people, which makes it enjoyable to come to work. I’m always smiling while I’m at the club. I also play the course once-in-a-while, which is a very nice staff perk.
Connor Milne
Connor Milne started working at HGCC in the summer of 2019 when a friend at Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School, recommended the club as a terrific place to work.
Since that time Connor worked three seasons in the Back Shop as a member of the Golfer Services team followed by three seasons on the Food & Beverage side as a server, plus occasional bartender duties in 2024. Coming into 2025, Conor will be taking on additional bartending duties at member events and in the Grill Room and Solarium dining areas.
“Over the years, I have learned so much at the club. We have an excellent staff with people who will mentor you and teach you the ropes,” says the 22-year-old who finally started playing a little golf at HGCC in 2024 and is looking forward to upping his game in 2025.
“HGCC becomes your home away from home. You spend a lot of time here in the summer,” Connor adds. “The members keep me coming back – they’re a great group of people. The men’s and women’s leagues and all the events are fun to work. I’m really looking forward to mixing drinks and developing an excellent cocktail list for members to enjoy this season.”
